The support Great Strides has received from Richard and Mary, their family and the Foundation is comprehensive.

The Morrison’s background in the non-profit world gave them a true understanding of our organization’s challenges. They guide us in making decisions and their advice is invaluable. They feel comfortable offering phrases like, “It’s time for a new website.” “We need to enhance your fundraising.” “You need to become sustainable.”  And we welcome their feedback. Along with their guidance, they give us the financial resources to support the actions we need to take.

The Morrison’s support is not distant and impersonal. They attend our fundraisers, bringing family and friends. They attend our horse shows, cheering on the participants. They give us moral support when things are tough and praise when things go well. They understand what we do and why we do it, and our organization has a place in their hearts. They are part of the Great Strides’ family.  We can ask their advice, share our challenges and know they will stand with us. Our relationship with Richard and Mary, their family and the Foundation has become part of the core of our organization. They enable us to move forward with confidence, growing programs that allow people of all abilities to make great strides with horses for body, mind and soul.

Affects of Gift Given

The Richard and Mary Morrison Foundation made a donation so we could purchase an appropriate horse when our clients became interested in participating in horse shows, and begin the process of training riders for such events. They also provided our organization with a technology grant so that we could build a new website, give our instructors the ability to electronically schedule lessons and keep the volunteer coordinator and other instructors informed real-time. These are just a few examples of the many times The Richard and Mary Morrison Foundation have provided financial aid. Their generosity is overwhelming.
